Social Justice - South Africa (2005)

In November and December of each year a small group of Year 11 Queensland school students travel to South Africa for a social justice and solidarity immersion program. The program is an initiative of the Christian Brothers and Edmund Rice Education. The experience aims to encourage young people passionate about changing the world.

In 2005 I was fortunate to travel with the group and document their journey. Many of these images are drawn from the resulting series "Ubuntu: South Africa/Australia Alive" a joint project between Edmund Rice Education and Griffith University. Photographs of the students have been omitted from this selection for privacy reasons.
